There are also more structured Playschool Activities that parents or teachers could do as a playtime activity.

And finally, there are the Playschool Lessons, which group a few Playschool Activities together and follow the themes that the kids are doing at my local playschool.

Rocketship Run!

Rocketship Run!

The theme this week is "going to the moon" and all things SPACE! I've been waiting for this theme, because it's the perfect opportunity to use a fun song from The Laurie Berkner Band called Rocketship Run. (This song is also great, because the counting links up with last week's theme on numbers).

We'll dance to the song using some of the Dance 'n Beats moves as follows:

5, 4, 3, 2, 1, blast off, another rocketship run (squat and then jump on "blast off") 
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, blast off, another rocketship run (squat and then jump on "blast off")

Take me to the sun, take me to the sun (slide with legs with hands on hips)
When I get there (point at sun)
I'll be spinning through the air, spinning round the sun (extend arms out to the sides and turn them around in a windmill motion)

I'll go jumping through the air, jumping from star to star (jump from one spot to the other)
