Jingle Bell Rocking the Playroom Event

Rocking the Playroom invites our friends to an afternoon of festive cheer as we celebrate Christmas in July with lots of merry musical activities.

The little rockers will sing Christmas and winter-themed songs, there’ll be fun activities with percussion instruments that teach them about rhythm, and they’ll keep warm by doing some energetic dancing and movement activities.

Our featured musical instrument will be the guitar, so little rockers will learn about different types of guitars and see how a guitar produces its sound. At the end of the class, the children will have a chance to play a guitar or ukulele, as well as do a few different musical activities with their parents/guardians. The more formal part of the lesson will be about 30 minutes, then there'll be another 30 minutes for the children to try out the instruments and do some musical activities at the stations that'll be set up.

The session will be aimed at preschool-age kids, but babies/toddlers, and older children are also welcome. Children must come with their mom/dad or guardian. We’ll also give parents some ideas for musical activities to do with their children at home.

There’ll be hot drinks and biscuits available after the session, and children can spend some time playing in the garden.
